The City of Burnside is one of Adelaide's most attractive and historic residential areas. It is well known for its tree-lined streets, period architecture, plentiful reserves and gardens within a 30 km² area. Located in the South-Eastern corner of Adelaide and just 10 minutes from the Central Business District, the City of Burnside covers 28 suburbs and has a residential population of over 45,000. We are seeking a motivated and experienced team member to join the Arboriculture team.

You will be required to undertake general tree maintenance activities and a variety of work programs associated with Council’s various Tree Management Strategies.

Responsibilities include all facets of arboriculture including:

- City tree removal and pruning to meet Australian standards
- Planting programs that includes planting, fertilising, watering and general care of young trees
- Collection of tree data in the field, including recording maintenance details
- To be able to safely operate tree related machinery, including wood chippers and Elevated Work Platforms.

Previous experience in a similar position as well as qualifications/licences including Certificate III in Arboriculture/Horticulture, Workzone Traffic Management, MR Drivers Licence, Certificates in Chainsaw Operation and Elevated Work Platform are required.

The position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis and is classified at Level ME 5/6, depending on experience and qualifications, under the City of Burnside Field Employees Enterprise Agreement 2023.
