**About** the Employer**:
We are the parents of two boys with additional needs and we require some support so that we can recharge our batteries in order to continue to provide a loving, safe and secure home. Your role will be to support our sons in building their confidence and social skills and giving them a few hours of fun activity.
Our younger son was non-verbal until recently and needs help with communication. He loves animals, riding his bike and go-kart and playing in the playground. He loves crafts, role-playing, specially as a vet, teacher or shopkeeper, playing with his toys and watching songs and stories on YouTube.
Our older son suffers from high levels of anxiety. He loves playing and watching sports and is specially good at football, cricket and tennis. He loves riding his bike and scooter, playing on the PlayStation and doing wordsearch and Suduko. He likes reading and writing stories.

**Summary** of Duties**:
To go to local parks and playgrounds and lead play and activities. To access other community activities such as mini golf, sports, nature walks and Jump In. When there is more time, particularly in the school holidays, to arrange days out such as Warwick Castle, Ryton Pools, picnics.
To help the boys at home with development of self-help and skills through play and communication such as playing board games, helping with crafts, role-play.
To help with mealtimes and involve the boys. To help with transport e.g. to clubs.
To take the boys for drinks and snacks and help with their experience of these places.
Some help is needed with the boys’ personal care.
The boys require close supervision at all times to ensure safety.
To help the boys tell us about their time with you by feeding back to us and using different communication means such as photos on their tablet.
Although they are very close and love interaction, communication can be difficult, which can lead to frustration. Finding ways to communicate calmly and effectively is very important.
To report any difficulties to us.

Must be:
DBS checked.
A car driver with class 1 business insurance. You have a responsibility to report to us any accidents or defects which could lead to an accident.
A non smoker/vaper whilst at work
Comfortable around our family dog
Desirable:
Strong Makaton signing
Familiar with communication aids i.e. Talk Pad

**The Times** Required**:
Term time 8 hours per week
Monday or Tuesday - 4 hours after school
Thursday - 4 hours after school

School holidays 16 hours per week
Monday or Tuesday - 5 hours, 10am to 3pm
Wednesday - 6 hours, 10am to 4pm
Thursday - 5 hours, 10am to 3pm
