**Job description**

We are looking for experienced, reliable and empathetic Support Workers with mental health experience who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.

We Empower is looking for support workers in the Western suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas.

**Your Duties may Include (but not limited to)**
- Capacity building - Independent skill building - therapy assistance
- Assisting the client to achieve NDIS goals
- Assisting client with domestic duties when required
- Assisting client with community access
- Assistance With Travel/Transport Arrangements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have demonstrated experience providing support to participants with high complex needs and or behaviours of concern.
- Support Worker must have experience with mental health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD).
- Experience supporting people with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours
- Experience using a Hoist or with Epilepsy Management
- Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to We Empower

**Essential criteria**:

- Cert IV in Disability or a relevant qualification and a minimum of 6mths experience supporting people with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid training
- Manual Handling training (or willing to obtain)
- A positive, reliable, empathetic approach to support people of all ages and backgrounds living with a disability
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate or Immunisation evidence required
- Demonstrated, proven experience working with individuals who may have complex support needs in different environments
- Proven can do, positive and willing attitude
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Initiative and self-motivation
- Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $33.00 - $58.30 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift

Licence/Certification:

- NDIS Clearance Check (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
- First Aid Certification & CPR (required)
