Design Manager

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead design on major Defence infrastructure.
- You will work closely with our Digital Solutions cohort to bring a unique and powerful combination of proven cutting-edge, innovative products to create intuitive end-user experiences that harness the power of data intelligence to supercharge delivery of outcomes. Our solutions bring a unique and powerful combination of domain plus digital, built on the core strengths of Mott MacDonald to solve today’s problems with today’s technology.
- You will share our commitment to harnessing new and emerging technologies to think beyond conventional disciplinary boundaries, driving realistic and future-proof design solutions. You will have a proven track record of delivering as part of a multi-disciplinary design and will be motivated, qualified and have previous experience either with Defence Capital Facilities and Infrastructure, Managing Contractors or a Defence Prime.
- This role will see you:

- Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of projects and development and execution of project plans and programming
- Accountable for defining project scope and developing project budgets and managing cost plans
- Coordinate and chair project design meetings
- Deliver fit for purpose technical solutions as agreed with the client
- Monitor project performance to ensure technical deliverables are in line with Defence milestone expectations
- Ensure deliverables are in line with the brief and relevant project/stakeholder/statutory requirements
- Identify design risks and mitigation strategies
- Provide strategic advice and leadership to inform ongoing value management to drive cost efficiencies

You will also bring the following to our team:

- Professional qualifications relevant to design management, architectural and engineering
- Relevant chartership and registration as required by the State in which you are based;
- Recent Defence project experience in either PMCA, Managing Contractor or a Defence Prime
- Knowledge of both Defence and Australian design standards with an understanding of multi-disciplinary requirements of Defence projects in feasibility, preliminary and detailed design
- Australian citizenship and holding, or be able to successfully obtain, and retain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance
