**Who the Company is?**

SPAA (Society of Precision Agriculture Australia Inc) is a non-profit, membership-based association formed in 2002 to promote the development and adoption of precision agriculture (PA) technologies across Australia. SPAA’s mission is to be Australia’s leading independent advocate for precision agriculture and to improve the sustainability of Australian agriculture.

SPAA has a wide membership base including growers, agribusiness, consultants, PA companies and researchers involved across a range of industries including horticulture, sugarcane, viticulture, grains and livestock.

To support their work and growing membership base, SPAA have an exciting opportunity available to join their team in the role of Membership and Communications Administrator. This is a working from home position and requires the incumbent to have a fully functional office with phone and internet service. The successful incumbent will preferably based within close proximately to Canberra, however due to the remote nature of the role, other locations will be considered.

**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
Reporting to the Executive Officer, this role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Executive Officer as well as overseeing memberships and SPAA communications.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Administration Tasks**
- Attend and take minutes for SPAA committee meetings (held approx. every 6 weeks, 7:00-9:00pm AEST).
- Manage and keep the member and supporter database up to date.
- Assist with answering membership queries.
- Assist with any event or board administration.
- Assist with coordination, management and communication activities of contracted projects.
- Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks.

**Membership & Communication Administration**
- Develop communications and send via Mailchimp and social media posts.
- Update and manage the SPAA website (Membes - training provided).
- Attend events such as field days and expos (as required).
- Manage electronic payment systems, such as Paypal or online payment gateways.
- Assist with management of day-to-day accounting transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Membership updates and financial statements.
- Record paper-based and online event registrations and process payments.

**Key criteria**:

- Prior experience in an administration is preferred (but not essential).
- Exposure to or an interest in farming/agriculture sector and technology.
- Experience using Adobe/Acrobat/Canva
- Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Full and current drivers license.
- Have a suitable working area at home with high speed, reliable internet capability.

Due to the nature of the role some weeks will be busier than others and key to being successful in the role will be the ability to:

- Have flexibility to adjust hours based on the volume of work.
- Have flexibility for occasional out of business hours work (eg committee meetings).
- Respond to queries and tasks as they arise.
- Work autonomously.
- Manage workload and prioritise effectively to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Participate in training and a willingness to learn (if required).
- Travel nationally (as required) for SPAA events, promotion and/or meetings.
