Our client is leading privately owned civil contracting business in the NSW specialising in complex civil infrastructure projects and urban development space. They are a multi awarded civil contractor who are committed to delivering projects to a high standard with a commitment to staff development and workplace safety.
They are now actively looking for a Safety Coordinator to be a key member of their successful project teams working on a major transport projects in Sydney. This role will be overseeing onsite activities, promoting the safety-first culture daily.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Supporting the project teams and ensure WHS compliance is met across all activities.
- Provide operational safety advice, investigation and safety audit services to project teams
- Sub-contractor management including on-boarding.
- Monitor and report operational safety performance to management, employees and contractors to create awareness and improve overall behaviours.
- Work closely with the Safety Manager to provide ongoing process and system improvements to ensure quality health and safety outcomes.
- Runninng toolbox prestart meetings
To be successful in securing this position you will need the following:
- A Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety (minimum)
- 2+ years experience in a field health and safety role
- Experience working across the construction industry
- Ability to liaise with all levels of individuals in a construction environment
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant WHS legislation
It is absolutely essential that you are willing to travel for work and have flexibility with moving to different locations when required.
