Moreton Downs State School was opened in 1995 and is situated 30 kilometres north of Brisbane in the suburb of Deception Bay.
**Our School Motto**: 'Growth Through Knowledge' inspires us to provide an excellent educational experience for our approximately 675 students from Prep to Year 6. Our school is based on our expectations to: Be Respectful, Be Safe and Be a Learner.
Effective implementation of curriculum is the core business and central focus of our school. Our staff are committed to excellence in teaching, learning and providing multiple opportunities for students to feel connected and achieve in their areas of strength.
Moreton Downs State School has an explicit-school wide approach to ensure all students feel safe and supported. We have a philosophy of inclusion and this is evident in the way we work to ensure that all students experience success.
The school has regular success in sporting, choir, robotics and instrumental competitions and challenges. Recent extension activities have focussed on student leadership, coding/robotics, and guided reading across the school. The capacity of the school to offer such diverse and inclusive offerings comes from the passion and commitment of the staff.
Our community are actively involved in our school through the Parents and Citizens Association and the multiple events we host across the year. The P&C has been instrumental in ensuring that all classrooms are air-conditioned.
