**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at **Thomas Embling Hospital** for the orientation period and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites. Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,?Located in Fairfield?just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.?Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women's unit.

**About the Role**:

- Be responsive to the needs of families and carers
- Liaise with external Carer specific services.
- Promote a carers perspective in service delivery and design
- Uphold the rights and dignity of Carers, Families and supporters.

**Duties**:

- Co Chair Family and Carer committee's
- Support families and carers in understanding their rights and responsibilities.
- Promote partnerships with external services to ensure family and carer support
- Provide a carer perspective in service delivery and design

**About You**:

- dedication to family and carer movement
- ability to engage carers perspectives across service delivery and design
- have a lived experience as a carer or consumer of the Mental Health or Criminal Justice system
- ability to work as part of the Lived experience team

- A personal lived experience of being a mental health consumer or carer of a mental health consumer?

**COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence**

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
