Training and Compliance Manager

Downer offers a range of services for the utility sector, incorporating traditional power and gas, renewable energy and technological communications services.

Our Power Systems team have recently secured several major projects and are seeking an experienced** Training & Compliance Manager **to join our team supporting the delivery of significant transmission line projects.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
This position will report to the National Operations manager to establish and maintain training compliance and related processes for the Power Systems business, primarily in the area of Transmission Lines Projects, looking to expand across all Power Systems Projects in meeting stated Downer and Client requirements in the delivery of our projects and programs of work.

Ensure that appropriate, consistent and accurate documents and records are effectively maintained for all tasks relating to training compliance on Power Systems Projects in accordance with Downer guidelines.
- Understand the project training objectives and client drivers and support project teams in meeting or exceeding these and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and government legislation, objectives and priorities.
- Undertake all tasks in compliance with The Downer Standard (TDS) and the Downer Delivery Management Methodology and assist the Transmission business in understanding these and how to comply with them.
- Assist in the improvement, development and delivery of the above documented management systems to streamline project implementation, execution and wrap-up processes with a view to optimising resources and minimising project costs and inefficiencies.
- Coordinate company training programs relating to project management and leadership development, compliance and risk assessment systems
- Expand the compliance remit to assist other departments in achieving optimised solutions such as plant, resources and safety
- Travel to remote sites periodically to conduct audits and assist projects on achieving their compliance based requirements

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Compliance, Auditing, Safety and/or Training certificates and/or qualifications
- Certificate IV - Training & Assessment Courses - preferred
- Strong background in remote project field work in compliance and/or safety
- Experience in a similar position or demonstrated knowledge of Safety and systems compliance experience and experience of clients expectations and how to meet these.
- Sound understanding and ability to develop a labour training needs analysis setting out skills and capabilities required for roles.
- Experience in being able to implement suggested training regimes
- Excellent Communicator - demonstrates the ability to clearly articulate business needs and liaise effectively with key stakeholders. Analytical - strong analytical, problem solving ability and be able to evaluate, organise, and understand information obtained from a variety of sources
