**About the role**
The Revenue Audit team is responsible for performing daily audits and compliance activities associated with Gaming, Hotel, and Food & Beverage operations across the group as well as partnering with Group Revenue Accounting for investigating and verification of revenue related activities. Their procedures and processes cover execution of the Group Revenue Audit Plan, verification and sampling of associated financial records and provision of revenue reports to the business and Regulatory Authority inspectors.
Reporting directly to the Group Senior Revenue Auditor and based at Treasury in Brisbane, the Revenue Compliance Auditor will deliver high quality, customer service-oriented Revenue Auditing services across the group, adhering to deadlines and ensuing compliance. The role would suit a current team member with Gaming / Cashier experience and / or someone who is studying / complete a degree in accounting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Audit of operations and documentation prescribed in the Group Revenue Audit Plan including compliance with group system of accounting and ICMS and Group Accounting policies
- Provide reports as required by the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA), Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) and other Finance Business units in a timely manner
- Work with the Group Senior Auditor in developing policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, efficiency and proper control
- Ensure breaches are reported and delivered to the relevant parties concerned
- Perform general audits in accordance with any applicable ICMs and the Group Revenue Audit Plan of cash transactions, accountable forms, seals, signatures, playing cards, dice, roulette balls and EGM meter variances and report any discrepancies
- Work with the Group Senior Revenue Audit/Supervisor to implement new systems and process improvements
- Work with Group Revenue Accounting team to follow up on variances identified during reconciliation and provide training / guidance to Casino Gaming, Hotel, Food and Beverage operations to manage variances at their source
- Incorporate technology and risk-based audit and forensic techniques into processes
- Provide feedback, reporting and training for breaches in process and variances to Casino Gaming, Hotel, Food and Beverage operations when variances are identified to actively manage variance mitigation at the source
**About you**
The role would suit a current team member with Gaming / Cashier experience and / or someone who is studying / completed a degree in accounting.
- Audit experience highly desirable
- Experience working in a casino or highly regulated industry is advantageous
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to effectively manage routine tasks and respond to additional requests and special projects as required
- Thorough understanding of the Systems of Accounting and Internal Control, Casino Control Act 1982 and associated Regulations
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or an equivalent, or extensive experience in a similar risk and compliance audit role is desirable
- Experience in risks, controls and compliance
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Technical/professional knowledge
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
