**Public Sector People (PSP) **are currently looking to speak to a
**OHS Advisor **to join a Local Government on temporary basis.
- **_ASAP - 3 month contract with potential for ongoing_**:

- **_Band 6 Hourly rate_**:

- **_38 hours week_**:

- **_North East Council_**

- Providing technical advice to leaders and employees on OHS legislative and compliance requirements and best practice
- Researching OHS hazards, risks and issues, and providing advice and guidance to leaders on control measures
- Analysing OHS training needs, developing and delivering OH&S training, and reviewing training outcomes
- Developing the staff Health and Wellbeing program
- Carrying out return to work program activities in support of injured staff as required
- Carrying out workplace, work practice and management system audits and inspection
- Developing, reviewing, consulting on, and implementing OH&S policy and procedure
- Developing and reviewing systems, procedures and processes and recommending improvements
- Maintaining injury, incident and OHS reporting systems, processes and **procedures**

**Further requirements include**:

- National Criminal History Check
- Formal qualifications in human resources, safety or other related field.
- Ability to work effectively with managers, staff and occupational health and safety representatives to ensure effective and durable implementation of health and safety solutions that prevent harm, and that achieve compliance or best practice outcomes depending on the situation.
- Experience in a broad range of occupational health and safety issues including worksite inspection techniques, hazard identification and risk management processes.
