**About our Engineering Team**

The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering operational excellence, responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our world class Airbus A320 and Boeing B787 fleet.

As part of the investment in our future, we have a fleet of new A321LR NEO’s arriving in our expanding Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the primary maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar aircraft, but also support Qantas Group A320/1, B717 and A321 Freighter aircraft and support the Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA’s) in Singapore and Japan. The Melbourne Precinct is also the home of our Apprentice Program.

**About the Opportunity**

As **Manager External Maintenance - Line** you will take responsibility for the oversight of Jetstar’s outsourced Line Maintenance operations including Cabin and IFE, including vendor performance, disruption management, defect monitoring and compliance control. In addition, this role is responsible for supervising a team and taking responsibility of all accountabilities associated relating to training, rostering, admin and performance management.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Monitoring, ongoing review and complying with OHS and safety standards
- Monitor and manage External Maintenance vendor performance in accordance with contractual and business requirements, ensuring business targets are met
- Communicating supplier performance to Jetstar Executives
- Assist in management of AOG aircraft recovery in external MRO/AMO ports as required
- Lead the addition and onboarding of new line maintenance vendors in support of the growing line maintenance demand across the Jetstar Network
- Allocate manpower to support Line Maintenance in various external locations as required
- Provide regulatory and compliance oversight of Jetstar External Line Maintenance including Cabin and IFE
- Support external AMO’s in the development and management of their Safety Management Systems, and drive continuous improvement
- Guide and provide oversight to your team of direct reports
- Facilitate process improvement via assignment of project responsibilities to direct reports
- Ensure accurate departmental reporting is provided
- Assist Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Programs, Technical Services, Fleet Managers with the control of existing processes and implementation of new processes
- Represent CAMO External Maintenance interests in broader company operational initiatives
- Management of Jetstar’s Airworthiness Maintenance Procedures Manual

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Engineer with proven qualifications in addition to the following experience and attributes:

- LAME/AME or tertiary qualifications in Aviation/Engineering/Management
- Understanding and/or demonstrated knowledge of PART 145 / 42 regulatory frameworks
- The ability to work autonomously whilst taking responsibility for, and mentoring a team of direct reports
- Strong leadership, people and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of Jetstar and deal professional with external parties (essential)
