**Small Business Inclusion Mentor**
Spinal Life Australia is a non-for-profit organisation that aims to support people with spinal cord damage to live an accessible, equitable and empowered life. Established in 1960 and striving to be a national leader, with offices located across Queensland and Western Australia
We achieve this through specialist services to support people in their daily lives, while fearlessly advocating to improve access and inclusion on a community, state and national level.
**About the role**
As Small Business Inclusion Mentor, you will deliver the Enabled business program in the Ipswich. Working alongside the members services team and taking direction from the Senior Advisor, Access, and Advocacy.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (flexible working 3- 4 days), people living with disability are encouraged to apply.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Work to identify businesses in the Ipswich and Sunshine Coast regions to approach about the Enabled Business program
- Develop and implement an approach to individual businesses to promote the Enabled Business program and to elicit interest from businesses in participating in the program
- Impart knowledge to representatives of small businesses to assist them to build their understanding of access and inclusion and how to improve it
- Assist the businesses in working towards making their workplace more inclusive for staff with disabilities
- Liaise with business industry groups, local government, and other representative bodies to raise awareness of the Enabled Business program in the local area
- Help generate interest in the Enabled business program through social media, print and Radio/TV media engagement
- Promote other services provided by Spinal Life Australia to the local community wherever appropriate, such as Access Consulting, Advocacy and other therapies, care and support services
- Attend meetings, raise awareness of the program and establish networks to increase the likely success and popularity of the program in the local area
**What is needed to be successful?**
We are looking for someone who matches Spinal Life’s values and is always ready collaborate to help the team deliver our goals. This includes:
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to balance competing priorities with multiple stakeholders
- High level computer skills, including confident use of MS Office
- Experience working with people with spinal cord injury or other significant disability is desirable
- Excellent relationship building skills, being an ambassador for our organisation
- Relevant tertiary business or human resources qualifications would be highly regarded
- You will need a current NDIS Worker Screening Card or be able to obtain one prior to commencement
- You will also need to complete the free online NDIS Worker Orientation Module
