**The role**

The Head of Industrial Relations will support the business in identifying and managing risk. Working collaborating with the broader P&C team, you will develop a case management approach to industrial matter and support a team of 3 business partners. You will ensure timely and efficient resolution of workplace issues and disputes, ideally with a mutual outcome.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of ER Business Partners to provide high quality services and advice to all SCC internal stakeholders.
- Advising system leaders on HR processes, policies, industrial instrument interpretation.
- Monitoring employment conditions for compliance with relevant laws
- Lead the ER team to resolution on complex employment relations and industrial issues.
- Maintaining a high quality and structured case management process to achieve timely support to managers
- Partnering across the organisation to deliver strategic projects and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver relevant education to management and wider teams
- Managing positive stakeholder relations including with unions and external reporting bodies
- Lead the renegotiation of SCC’s enterprise agreement
- Utilise metrics to analyse the status quo and identify opportunities of improvement.
- Implement evolution process to identify ER/IR risks and strategies to mitigate.
- Collaborate with other heads of department within P&C to ensure a uniformed approach.

**Requirements**:

- Undergraduate and post graduate qualifications in employment law or another relevant field
- 8+ years of experience managing complex ER/ IR matters
- Strong understanding to the industrial landscape
- Strong leader with superior communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in conciliations and conferences at various state and federal tribunals
- Experience in negotiation of enterprise agreements
- Well-developed investigative skills
- Experience in a human services discipline (ideal)
