**Role**:
The Principal Class Team work cooperatively to provide high quality leadership in all aspects of school operation. Within this framework, the role of the Assistant Principal as a House Leader will focus primarily on the following:
- Ensuring that Dandenong High Schools vision, values and principles of teaching and learning are implemented and embedded across the school
- Leading the development and implementation of the school¿s Instructional Model, in line with the VTLM 2.0
- Leading the implementation of DE curriculum initiatives across the school and Dandenong High School initiatives within the House
- Provision of exemplary educational leadership through the leading of a key area of responsibility across the school
- Leading the development of a whole school approach to student management within a House and in consultation with other House Leaders
- Leading the development of a House based performance and development culture through the implementation of the staff appraisal process
- The establishment and promotion of House identity and spirit
**Responsibilities**:
The position of House Leader at Dandenong High School will play a central role in building vibrant highly effective learning communities within the assigned House and a strong, dynamic learning community across the school.
- Be an agent for change and innovation within the school through contributions to the school¿s Strategic Plan and the implementation of goals and priorities that enhance student learning outcomes and staff development
- Liaise with the Principal and the other Assistant Principals on a wide range of issues as well as convening regular planning meetings to evaluate current approaches and develop new approaches for the whole school
- Participate in regular Principal Class and School Leadership Team meetings
- Lead staff meetings designed to develop a whole school approach to learning, connection and engagement
- Lead the development of staff practice within the House on matters of curriculum, pedagogy, data, student engagement and wellbeing
- Maintain a leading role in the learning, pastoral care and management of students, including the monitoring of academic progress, engagement, wellbeing, attendance, uniform and behaviour
- Lead the development and growth of members of the House Leadership Team and House Staff to enhance their capabilities
- Develop student leadership opportunities within the House and actively promote student voice and lead the House Leadership Team and Staff in the development of House identity and spirit
- Develop a culture of reflection and evaluation of practice through the Performance and Development Process for staff within the House
- Participate in meetings with parents on matters of student learning, wellbeing, engagement and pathways
- Lead programs that develop student wellbeing within the House and across the school
- Lead the implementation of DE learning initiatives including Disability Inclusion
- Participate in staff selection processes for the school for internal and external positions
- Deputise for the Principal when required
- Any other duties as required by the Principal
