**Who are we looking for?**

We’re looking for a Team Lead - Botany to join our Environmental Impacts and Assessments team.

As a Team Lead, you'll set direction, foster collaboration, and drive team success while contributing to key decision-making processes. This position will report directly to the Team Lead - Ecology in a team leadership group that also includes the Team Lead - Fauna.

Our Environmental Assessment and Approvals business has maintained strong growth in recent years and is currently one of the largest groups in WA, being a leader in impact assessment and approvals, terrestrial ecology, marine, air and noise assessments services. Our diverse team contributes to a wide variety of projects, with a strategic focus on renewable energy, critical minerals, infrastructure, water and Defence at a regional, national and global scale.

**Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in**:

- Provide day to day supervision and coaching to the Flora team in line with GHD’s core values and strategy.
- Work closely with the Team Lead - Ecology to secure, schedule and manage workload for the flora team.
- Lead key proposals and assist with resource allocation.
- Scheduling field surveys, allocating field team members and planning requirements.
- Undertake and lead field surveys as required.
- Ensure the technical soundness of work produced by the flora team.
- Drive the flora team to actively participate in the entire opportunity/proposal/delivery cycle.
- Oversee and maintain herbarium specimens and lodgment to the WA Herbarium.
- Timely delivery of services to meet scope, quality and budget requirements. Undertake invoicing of projects.Contribute, where required, to flora team quarterly reviews in conjunction with the Team Lead - Ecology.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Bachelor degree qualification in environmental science or ecology discipline.
- 8+ years’ relevant experience consulting experience as a botanist, preferably within Western Australia.
- Current drivers’ licence (c class), manual preferred.
- Previous experience managing a small team (typically 6-10 team members) or leading field survey teams.
- Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes.
- Proven experience in and a sound understanding of current environmental issues and legislation.Proven experience in proposal development and project management and working as part of a wider team.
