**Position Information**:
Wadalba Community School has a strong focus on high aspirations and expectations for its students, staff and community. Our school strives for authentic community connections with 250 of our students identifying as Aboriginal.

The school maintains a strong focus on improving effective classroom practice through a focus on explicit teaching practice, formative assessment and student agency. High level areas for continuous improvement include creating opportunity to unleash student talents as a first step (Flourish) and then to provide support as required (Nurture). Key focus areas include strengthening teacher-student-family partnership to support individual aspiration, student led learning and high-quality teaching focused on contemporary practices and support for wellbeing and whole child growth.

The school has many specialist facilities which support delivery of a diverse, quality curriculum program, including a recording studio, aquaponics centre and agriculture plot, vocational education facilities and dance studio.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach Science 7-12
- Highly developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with the proven ability to build positive and productive working relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community with a demonstrated willingness to contribute to faculty initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom management pedagogy and wellbeing practices.
- Evidence demonstrating the ability to implement and evaluate innovative, engaging teaching and learning programs that differentiate for a diverse range of student learning needs.
