POSITION AVAILABLE - Customer service consultant, call center operator
- We are located in Smeaton Grange, we are a well-established, long term, small business (established 1999). This position is in our national after sales corporate division covering warranty and spares, we represent many major companies here in Australia and overseas. We seek people that are looking for a long-term secure position, we are not saying you need to commit to a life sentence, but stability is sort.
Call center based you will be working in a very busy environment, the job can be at times stressful and challenging. Sadly some consumers disgustingly think it is their right to abuse, swear, talk over, name call and so on during some conversations that may become heated, you must have negotiating skills, logic and be level headed to take on such situations, take control, stay calm yourself as well as calm the consumer and find a solution to the issue at hand - and most of all you must be thick skinned and not take anything to heart. In saying this we get many many laughs at the ignorance and stupidity that comes through the phone on occasions and ironically the job can be quite funny.
You also must be handy and logical thinking; the biggest part of this job is trouble shooting. We do a lot, and I mean a lot of flat packed furniture and various tools - you need to have the fundamentals or understanding of these products (on the job training is provided) and talk people through issues when they call, we also do out door play, electrical and fitness equipment and so on
- as said you will be trained but you must have fundamental understanding to start with.
The up side to this is you will be working with a fantastic bunch of work colleges, that love to have a laugh, have a chat and make the day go by. The other plus its a secure job and as a boss I understand the work environment must be a place you want to come to work to and we try and make this happen.

Pay: From $26.66 per hour
