**Company Overview**:
This proud hardgoods retailer has decades of heritage and a loyal following of enthusiasts, we have all been into one of their stores. The already significant national growth of this business, which is part of a publicly listed business, sees it going from strength to strength. Now, you can write yourself into this remarkable growth story as a Retail Development Manager; a newly created role which is in line with the long-term growth strategy. Where you will be accountable for developing and implementing sustainable programs and initiatives that build the capability of the team to ensure this business achieves its present and future objectives from a people and service perspective.
**Rundown of Responsibilities**:
- You will have National accountability for stores across this specialist business unit, where you collaborate with all Regional Managers to foster growth and implement a talent pool and identify learning needs for current and emerging leaders
- Your purpose will be to partner with external TAFE and RTO’s and internal L&D teams to develop career pathways for school leavers and existing team members.
- This may involve coaching at the coalface across the operational aspect of store performance including customer service, inventory management and technical service delivery and compliance
- You will regularly review and develop business plans and budgets, monitoring performance against KPIs and agreed improvement objectives
- You will stay ahead of the curve when it comes to technology changes specific to this industry and share this knowledge and insight nationally.
**What it Takes**:
- Significant Retail Multi-Site operations management experience ideally in a hard goods versus a soft goods environment
- Demonstrated understanding of Retail success drivers such as sales, customer service, inventory management, VM, brand standards, marketing and promotional execution
- What we are looking for here is the proven ability to influence outcomes without authority; bring your Retail experience, commercial thinking and relationship-building prowess together in a role where you can make a tangible difference
- A true relationship builder, you have the network and know where to go to get the answers for this newly created leadership position
- Enjoy the autonomy to manage your workload and time accordingly with your sound time management skills.
