**About the role**

In this role you will provide sales and service to Central Catholic Bookshop customers whilst assisting the manager in operational management.

The Central Catholic Bookshop is located in the Melbourne CBD (next door to St Francis Church) and operates 7 days a week.

The Retail Shop Assistant reports to the Manager of the Central Catholic Bookshop, which is under the care and responsibility of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

**Typical day might include the following**:

- Providing sales and service assistance to customers
- Assisting with the receipt and display of goods for sale
- Taking orders from customers for the supply and sale of goods.
- Assisting the Central Catholic Bookshop Manager and Retail Accounts Assistant in operational management.
- Opening and closing the Bookshop when needed ensuring security procedures are followed
- On occasion, assisting with special bookshop activities and/or events.

- Excellent communication skills
- High level of attention to detail, quality and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently
- High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching.
