**Your new role awaits**

As Commercial Manager, Commercial Office you will directly support the Chief Commercial Officer in reviewing and analysing business performance to identify opportunities to improve business processes and performance. You will also act as Program Lead to develop and implement programs to realise identified benefits of these opportunities.

This role is also responsible for ensuring financial reports are correct and in compliance with legislative requirements and Coates policies and procedures, as well as take the lead in the implementation and execution of business risk and compliance management processes across the function.

Key accountabilities include:

- Improve and drive clarity, understanding and improvement of operating performance within the Commercial Office function, or as directed within the greater Coates business
- Analyse financial and other performance reporting to identify opportunities for business improvement. Prepare plans to recover and realise the identified benefits
- Identify and where directed, lead opportunities to improve business performance. Opportunities are not limited to financial key performance indicators.
- Act as the financial conduit between the Commercial Office and Corporate Finance teams. Ensure financial compliance (legislative and Coates policies and procedures) within the Commercial Office functions and conduct business process reviews as required.
- Inform and educate managers on effective financial management tools and practices.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the Commercial Office functions. Ensure relevant Group and General Managers understand the process and detail and are managing financial requirements effectively.
- Month end responsibilities and reporting for business units as assigned (revenue finalisation, analysis of month end recoveries, business unit monthly P&L finalisation including profit commentary), financial performance analysis and insight commentary for Commercial Office functions[FN(1]
- Lead risk management and compliance activity within the function.

**What you’ll bring to the role**

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager who has:

- 3-5 years’ experience in senior finance management functions, with responsibility for performance delivery and improvement programs.
- Demonstrated experience in productivity improvement programs, including leading programs of work to realise these improvements
- Experience in key roles involving project management disciplines
- Played a lead role in managing risk and audit compliance, including managing relationships with external auditors
- An ability to work through matrixed management to achieve business outcomes
- Time in M&A environments (favourable).
- Business turnaround experience (favourable)
- A Degree in Finance (MBA highly regarded)
