About the Role
The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant (ACNC) supports and facilitates the operation of a dedicated IBD service using a Gastroenterologist led shared care model by provides advanced, specialist clinical knowledge and skills of IBD pathophysiology, pharmacology key diagnostic strategies, medical and surgical management, and contemporary nursing practice to facilitate and streamline individualised patient centred care within the speciality.
The Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant (ACNC) provides clinical expertise and consultancy in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Consultant (NG7). The ACNC provides direct and indirect care as required and works with the wider health care team of Gastroenterology and IBD team ensuring patient and unit goals are achieved. In supporting the CNC, the ACNC provides advanced clinical knowledge and skills, leadership and direction to nursing staff and is responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality and cost-effective nursing care consistent with contemporary standards and best practice in Gastroenterology and IBD speciality.
