
Disability Care Worker

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Disability Carers to join our team. As a Disability Carer, you will provide personalized support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in daily tasks and enhancing their quality of life. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide support to individuals with physical, sensory, intellectual, or developmental disabilities in accordance with their care plans.
- Assist with daily living activities including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), mobility, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
- Administer medication and ensure it is taken according to prescribed instructions (training provided).
- Support individuals with social and recreational activities, encouraging independence and community participation.
- Monitor and record the individual’s health and well-being, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with transportation to and from appointments or social activities.
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and safe environment, promoting dignity and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or changes in the individual’s condition.
**Key Requirements**:
- Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred, but not required (training can be provided).
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and communicate effectively.
- Patience, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for some roles.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnight, depending on client needs.
- A current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance. NDIS workers screening check.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- A relevant qualification in health, disability support, or social care (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent).
- Experience with specialized equipment or personal care techniques is an advantage.
