**The opportunity we have available**
Organised within the Chief Operating Officer Group within the department, Information Technology (IT) Division’s purpose is to connect people and technology, empowering the department to excel.
The ITD provides the digital collaboration and communications tools necessary to connect a geographically dispersed workforce and to optimise hybrid working arrangements. We manage industry and public facing digital systems, deliver desktop services to over 2,400 staff, support over 30 office locations across Australia and oversee the department’s cyber security capability.
The Digital Solutions Section within the Digital Delivery Branch (DDB) is responsible for project delivery and sustainment of a variety of digital solutions, including:
- Reporting and Program Management (RPM)
- to the Departments Infrastructure Investment Program Management and Reporting solution
- Road Vehicle Regulator (ROVER)
- The system which supports the regulatory activities associated with the Road Vehicle Standards Act (RVS Act).
- Regulator Application for Compliance, Enforcement, Calculation And Reporting (RACECAR)
- The system which supports the regulatory activities associated with the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES)
We are looking for self-motivated, experienced IT professionals with extensive knowledge and experience in quality assurance and testing of Digital Solutions developed utilising a range of Microsoft technologies and services.
**What will you do?**
As a Test Lead in the Digital Solutions section, you will be working in a small multidisciplinary development team responsible for developing and maintaining digital solutions across a range of diverse departmental programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Test planning, design and execution
- Defect triage and management
- Test reporting
- Assisting with User Acceptance Testing
- Assisting with the 3 technical support for Digital Solutions
- Participate in regular sprint planning, showcases, retrospectives and other agile/scrum activities as required.

- Prepare estimates for testing activities and tasks to inform Project and BAU planning.
- Communicate effectively with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, utilising various written and verbal techniques.
- Remain flexible and be adaptable to pivot accordingly to shifting organisational priorities.
Tertiary qualifications in an IT discipline, relevant industry certifications or demonstrated industry experience will be highly regarded.

- At least 3 years’ experience as system tester, testing solutions utilising the relevant technologies (outlined in the who are we looking for summary)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
