Our Airports and Specialised Pavements business have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager. We have been identified as the preferred supplier for the Hobart Airport Upgrade Project and are seeking a Commercial Manager who will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of all commercial and contractual matters associated with the project. This role will also ensure compliance with commercial aspects of the Downer Delivery Management Methodology and appropriate commercial governance. Critical to the role will be the development and implementation of appropriate commercial strategies in liaison with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery. **ABOUT YOU** - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, commerce, or quantity surveying - Minimum 10 years’ experience overall; 3-5 years’ experience in similar role - Demonstrable and successful experience in a commercial role on a project with value >$75m - Ability to contribute to the preparation of contract claims and review financial information - Proven leadership skills; coaching and mentoring teams - Ability to proactively manage dispute process with clients and subcontractors - Working knowledge of the common law, state and federal regulations and statutes as they relate to commercial issues - To be decisive on business issues, displaying timely and quality decision making, as well as working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure - Demonstrated ability in liaising and building relationships with key stakeholders **KEY TASKS** - Manage Commercial/contractual correspondence with the client and key subcontractors/suppliers including variations and EOT claims - Ensure Downer Zero Harm requirements are included in all downstream subcontracts and supply agreements - Implement commercial and contract management processes as required under The Downer Standard - Manage the monthly progress claim compilation to the client - Manage the review, approval and processing for payment of subcontract and supply claims - Assist the Project Manager in compiling monthly client and internal reporting packs, particularly focus on commercial, risk and finance aspects **WHAT WE OFFER** - Highly supportive, team-orientated organisation - Championing health & safety initiatives for all our employees and visitors - Competitive remuneration with on-going training and support - A long-term career opportunity to work with an ASX listed company - Downer is an equal opportunity employer - Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual orientation / Age, offering flexible working options.
