Purpose of the Role
The Product Manager will lead the Advanta product management process, focusing on increasing gross profit per product family while enhancing the structure and efficiency of the product management process. This role will drive the delivery of products to market within budget and on time, with the ability to swiftly respond to market opportunities.
Lead the Advanta product management process across cross-functional teams.
Conduct market mapping to analyse customer needs, market trends, and potential supplier partnerships from both ROI and build-vs-buy perspectives.
Assess competitor offerings and identify opportunities for differentiation.
Analyse product/component requirements and develop programs to ensure all requirements are met.
Develop and maintain production timelines for product development across various departments.
Evaluate new product ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create effective go-to-market strategies.
**Description**:
Role & Responsibilities
Drive the execution of all phases in the product lifecycle, including market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirement development, and product launch.
Manage the product lifecycle process, including slow-moving stock, collaborating with teams to address issues and identify required actions.
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development in collaboration with the design and procurement teams.
Develop product strategy documents that outline the business case, use cases, technical requirements, supplier considerations, and revenue projections.
Analyse market data and work with cross-functional teams to develop sales strategies and define product objectives to drive effective marketing campaigns.
Develop product costings and ensure proper GDP and markup calculations using established pricing frameworks.
Collaborate with design, production, marketing, and sales teams in the development, quality assurance, and release of products. Balance resources to ensure organisational success.
Work with marketing teams to develop differentiated product positioning and messaging for key market segments.
Partner with management and procurement to manage supplier relationships, secure exclusive distribution rights, and collaborate on sourcing the best suppliers for Advanta products.
Work closely with the Design team to support warranty solutions and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM).
Oversee product presentation, including physical packaging, marketing content, and imagery.
Partner with the Director of Sales to negotiate exclusive product distribution rights.
**Skills and Experiences**:
About You
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in dynamic product management roles across multiple product types with varying complexities.
Proven success in overseeing all aspects of the product lifecycle.
Highly effective in working with cross-functional teams.
Experience in creating and delivering detailed product marketing strategies in collaboration with marketing and design teams.
Strong self-motivation and a proactive attitude.
Innovative and creative problem-solver.
Strong team player and solutions-focused.
Experience in using software tools to generate reports on product lifecycle management and mapping, (desirable).
Previous experience in furniture or chair manufacturing, (desirable).
