**About the job**

We are looking to hire an energetic and skilled dog handler & trainer to provide training and care to assigned dogs. The dog handler & trainer’s responsibilities include observing and assessing behavioural patterns in dogs, exercising dogs as needed, and utilising various dog-training techniques to correct problematic behaviours. You should also be able to disinfect all play and exercise equipment as required.

To be successful as a dog handler & trainer, you should be observant, patient, and adept at handling different breeds and sizes of dogs. Ultimately, an outstanding dog handler should be able to remain calm in difficult situations as well as demonstrate exceptional communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

This offer is for an ongoing, permanent, and full-time position.

**About The Role**
- Developing and implementing customised training programs based on dogs’ training needs and behavioural patterns.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented training programs and adjusting them as needed.
- Communicating behavioural concerns to dog owners as required.
- Ensuring that all sleep, play, and training areas are clean and sanitary.
- Assisting in providing food and medication to dogs.
- Monitoring dogs during assigned play and socialisation times to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Promptly reporting injuries, accidents, or medical issues to management.
- Maintaining accurate records of dogs’ training and medical needs, behavioural issues, personalised training programs, and progress.

**Skills required**:

- Completion of an approved dog handler training program.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- The ability to handle different breeds and sizes of dogs.
- The ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- The ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organisational skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- A love for dogs.
- An observant, alert, and patient disposition.
- Valid full driving licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle.

Annual Salary: $77,000 plus super

Pay: $77,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
