Design Coordinator required for Local Government 3 month assignment

**Your new company**

Hays are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator to join one of Perth's Local Governments less than 10 minutes from the CBD. This is a 3 month assignment.

**Your new role**

Reporting to the Manager Assets and Design, in this role you will support the Assets and Design Team in achieving the City's operational objectives. Your main responsibilities will be:

- Overseeing projects from planning and design through to documentation in relation to capital works (CW) and maintenance operations of Civil Infrastructure (urban renewal programs)
- Coordinating design and drafting of construction projects, drainage systems, cycle pathways, car parks, traffic facilities
- Allocating drafting resources to assist the development of engineering policies, urban renewal projects, parks and reserves
- Maintaining plans and files in respect to Traffic and civil Design projects
- Monitoring expenditure against planned budget, and providing variance reports accordingly
- Conducting meetings and, when required, facilitating public discussions on design and traffic issues
- Managing contractors and consultants appointed to undertake Civil Design services

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
- Current C Class Driver's License
- Proficiency in use of software inclusive of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, GIS and Project
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including MRWA, AustRoad, Australian Standards, and AR&R
