Following the introduction of a new structure that prioritises participation in recreation, sport and leisure, this is one of three exciting leadership roles in the new Community Participation team. - Lead the Recreation and Leisure Team to deliver excellent community recreation, sport and leisure outcomes.
- Deliver outcomes from our Active for Life Strategy that improve community participation in physical activity.
- Work collaboratively with peers, sports clubs, community groups, contract partners and external stakeholders.

**About the Role**

The Coordinator Recreation and Leisure is a critical role in the new Community Participation team. Working directly with external and internal stakeholders, no two days are ever the same. With a strong network of sport and recreation groups across the municipality and an innovative new leisure operational model - Active Manningham
- the role is pivotal to the development of policy directions, sports development at the grassroots level as well as providing expert advice to shape Council’s future directions.

**Skills and Experience**
- Well-developed leadership skills and the ability to drive a team culture of collaborative work performance.
- A keen understanding of inclusion and a commitment to increasing participation in physical activity.
- A strategic mindset as well and an understanding of the operational aspects of sports clubs.
- Contract management experience and the ability to develop strong and effective partnerships with contract partners to benefit the Manningham community.
- Strong engagement skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
- A commitment to the development of community participation models.
