About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Environment Protection, you will be supporting EPA's frontline regulatory response in the region, including education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action. You will contribute to the delivery of core regulatory operations aligned to EPA's strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste. You will also conduct desktop assessments to help respond to risks of harm posed by closed landfills in the region.
Skills and experience
**To be successful in this role you will need to have**:
- A relevant tertiary degree or qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a relevant regulatory role (e.g. environmental regulation) experience with landfills and/or contaminated land is desirable.
- Successful completion of Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training (on-job), or completion within a reasonable time frame from commencement in the role.
- Ability to be present at times and locations as required to successfully perform the role. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver's licence.
