
Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a high performing team. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will have the opportunity to kick-start your career in a supportive and dynamic environment, providing essential care and support to our patients on their path towards improved independence and well-being.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate closely with experienced Occupational Therapists to learn and assist in developing patient treatment plans.
- Provide direct support to patients by assisting with therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve functional abilities.
- Observe and document patient progress, noting changes in condition and sharing observations with the therapy team.
- Engage in patient and family education, helping them understand strategies for promoting independence and carrying over therapy techniques at home.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized therapy area, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and readily available for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and speech-language pathologists, to provide coordinated patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy through ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
**Requirements**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
- Genuine passion for helping others and making a positive impact on patients' lives.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn electronic medical record systems.
