Qantas Engineering (QE), among other activities, provides engineering and technical services support to Qantas Airways and Express Freighters Australia (EFA) Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations (CAMO). This support includes assistance with all CASR Part 42, Part 145, Part 21 and Part 147 quality, safety and compliance related matters. It also includes regulatory, compliance and assurance support of major projects, such as major aircraft modifications, interpretation of the applicability of relevant design, continuing airworthiness and maintenance standards, aircraft entry into service or aircraft return to service after prolonged storage activity.
The Specialist Safety Assurance is a hands-on technical role participating in the entire Qantas Engineering (QE) Assurance Program development lifecycle from analysis and design through implementation, conduct, monitoring, review and reporting. In this role you will design, develop and implement assurance program solutions and associated management systems that are used by QE Compliance & Regulatory Management in the acquittal of the QE audit program. You will facilitate external regulatory surveillance activity conducted by CASA, ensuring that any identified issues are clearly understood and adequately addressed by the applicable business unit.
You’ll have
- Tertiary education, aeronautical trade certificate or training in a relevant field (aviation / aeronautical, engineering and / or maintenance, quality and / or safety assurance, etc) or working towards.
- High level of understanding and practical working knowledge of domestic and international Civil Aviation regulations covering, ICAO, Parts 21, 42, 66, 145 & 147 (or equivalent)
- Understanding of documented and implemented requirements of IOSA MNT ISARPS.
- Understanding of other regulations governing industrial workforce management (WH&S, Industrial Relations, Environment).
- Lead Auditor Training - completed or working towards
- Hold or working towards company authorisation in Audit and/or Assessor
- Ability to work both within a team and independently to resolve complex issues
- Ability to manage and prioritise conflicting and diverse business objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic with a sense of discipline and detail
- Excellent written and oral communicator with the capability to interact effectively with senior management
- Excellent understanding of training and human factors programs.
- Robust computer literacy skills with the ability to interact with enterprise systems such as MS Office,
- Willing to travel for the provision of assessments, audits & other functions
