**About the role**
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the primary purpose of this position is the provision of key enabling and support services to the executive and senior management team underpinning THRF Group’s people and culture objectives to contribute to the achievement of the organisations purpose and deliver on strategic outcomes.
The main objective of this role is to provide high quality, research-backed, recommendations and advice regarding workplace relations, health and safety. Additionally, this role will ensure that the executive and senior management team have the tools that they require and the advice that they seek out to effectively meet the organisational objectives.
In addition to providing advice and support to the executive and senior management team, the Workplace Relations Advisor will also support the Head of Legal, Risk and Governance and the Executive Support Manager to develop and review policies and procedures ensuring that they meet all applicable legislation.
**Role responsibilities include**:
- Provide advice and support to the CEO, other executives, leadership team and managers on employee relations and WH&S, including the interpretation of policies and procedures, relevant awards and legislation, employment terms and conditions, performance management and conduct issues.
- Act as the first point of contact for the leadership team and managers with industrial and workplace relations queries and matters.
- Assist, as required, in workplace investigations, providing coaching and support to the leadership team and managers as required.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of organisation wide Workplace Health and Safety Training, Risk Assessments, WH&S policies, procedures, incident reporting and investigation of workplace incidents.
- Contribute to the development of THRF Group’s culture through role modelling THRF Group’s values and behaviours.
**About you**
To be successful in the role you will ideally have;
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Workplace Health and Safety, Employee Relations, or other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Professional membership of AHRI.
- Minimum of 3 years successful experience in an ER or WH&S advisory role.
- An understanding of Australian employment law.
- Knowledge and experience supporting industrial or workplace relations.
- Experience working in a complex, multi-disciplinary organisation.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
- Excellent people skills.
- The ability to positively contribute to team harmony.
- Ability to work within directed parameters.
- An interest in the fundraising sector or health sector.
- Highly self-motivated with the confidence to work autonomously when required.
