Our client is a leader in providing services to the maritime, military and resource sectors. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced
**Engineering Manager **to join their professional team.

Reporting to the sector General Manager, you will be responsible for working as part of and managing the Perth Engineering team providing advice from a technical perspective supporting all activities whilst across Commercial and Defence Shipbuilding, Dredging and Disposal sectors from tender stage through to delivery.

You will manage a team providing engineering support covering issue investigation and problem resolution, design change planning and implementation, installation, commissioning and operations as well as coordinating ongoing maintenance and repairs to assigned shipboard naval architect systems.

This is a very exciting time for the business with an excellent pipeline of blue chip projects and fantastic variety of workload with a strong pathway for progression.

**Duties include but not limited to**:

- Providing support to the General Manager and managing Design meetings
- Systems engineering and detail design
- CAD Drawings
- Weight tracking & control
- Development of QA documentation
- Manual Writing
- Producing regular project & Engineering reports as required.
- Proactively promoting quality, environmental responsibility & safety within the workplace.
- Supporting other departments within the company as required.
- Technical investigations, including triage of technical issues
- Undertake engineering change projects
- Provide engineering support to other teams as required.
- Design change planning and implementation.
- Operate with a customer focus, ensuring safe outcomes within an environment focused on quality.
- Work collaboratively with engineering team and other teams.
- Conduct Technical Risk Assessments.
- Conduct System Safety engineering activities for related systems.
- Engage in field work to support engineering tasks as required.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Naval Architect) or similar
- Minimum 7 to 15+ years’ experience as a Professional Naval Architect or Engineering Manager
- Experience in conducting engineering investigations, analysis and writing reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge of class societies and relevant design standards.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
- Excellent ability in CAD Programs - AutoCAD, Solidworks experience essential
- Excellent problem-solving skills to define, investigate and draw effective conclusions
- Ability to prioritize work deadlines in an ever changing setting and to deliver results in a high pressure environment
- Strong ability to develop and interpret technical documents, manuals and drawings
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent project and time management skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines
