As a Managing Editor of
_Money_ magazine:

- You are responsible for managing the workflow of the monthly magazine, overseeing the creation of the flatplan and commissioning the magazine’s regular columns, articles and features through in-house staff and external contributors in a timely manner.
- You will work with the editor-in-chief in implementing the agreed editorial strategy for the year, including the Features List, Cover Story List, Special Editions such as the Best of the Best Guide and other custom publications.
- You will assign articles, give deadlines, word counts and comply with agreed pay rates for external contributors.
- You will publish a weekly newsletter and upload a pre-agreed number of online articles daily. While Money Magazine will be ably supported by the media sales, client services and marketing teams, you must monitor artwork traffic, such as magazine artwork, photoshoots and make sure that client services deliver advertising material in a timely manner.
- From time to time, you will be required to supply copy to the print and online issues, as agreed with the Editor-in-Chief.
- You will foster relationships with Money Magazine’s readers and advertisers through your attendance and, on occasion, participation at industry events.
- You will work with the Editor-in-Chief to achieve subscription KPIs and grow the business based on a pre-agreed editorial strategy.
- You will work with the editorial team of Financial Standard to enable smooth and meaningful exchange of editorial content that is relevant to both audience segments.
- You will work with the research team of Rainmaker Group to harness proprietary research for the benefit of Money Magazine readers.

Qualifications:

- A degree in communications, journalism or marketing with subsequent relevant experience in an editorial or content management role, preferably within a media organisation (experience working in a print magazine or newspaper is highly desirable)
- More than five (5) years of experience in an editor role is desirable but what we are looking for, most of all, is someone who cares deeply about transforming the financial well-being of every Australian through high-calibre personal finance journalism driven by innovation, passion and integrity.
- Demonstrated experience devising content strategies and implementing content campaigns across print, digital and social media
- Demonstrated experience and proven ability to lead and oversee editorial and production processes and work with tight deadlines
- Keen attention to detail and excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with substantial editing, copywriting, and proofing experience.
- Knowledge and familiarity with key contacts, networks, organisations and institutions within the personal finance industry is highly desirable
