Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards remain at the core of the program, while the business has evolved to include major partnerships and ventures across Financial Services and Retail, as well as a number of businesses such as Qantas Money, Qantas Insurance and Qantas Wine.

The Head of Finance & Commercial in Qantas Loyalty is responsible for leading the process of opportunity development and prioritisation processes within the BU and will also have significant influence over the creation and delivery of the BU strategy, as well as, developing a network of more than 50 partner airlines and partners in hotels, car hire and new business ventures.

This role is accountable for challenging, disrupting, leading, owning, influencing and manage the planning and advising on all financial, commercial and strategic aspects within the business unit (BU) -Qantas Loyalty’s key revenue generating businesses and airline loyalty program partners. With a commercial finance leadership focus this role will ensure appropriate structures, initiatives and processes are in place to meet the delivery of BU objectives, requirements and targets.

The Head of Finance & Commercial is also responsible for maintaining and managing the interaction of the BU, Group Finance, Investor Relations, External Auditors and CoFE including maintaining a collaborative relationship with the CRM. The role will also lead a team of Finance Business Partners and need to deliver on key people management accountabilities that relate to the Balance Scorecard for Qantas Loyalty.

You’ll have:

- 10+ years in financial and relevant related roles
- Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and postgraduate qualifications (e.g. CPA/CA
- Extensive experience working in multiple areas of Finance
- Extensive experience working with other areas of the business through projects; and/or experience in non-Finance roles
- Highly developed people management skills and experience managing people managers
- Strong experience leading teams in a changing environment
- Experience owning, developing and executing a Business Unit level strategy
- In-depth knowledge of negotiating contracts
- Strong ability to maintain and enhance external networks
- Highly experienced with external stakeholder management including regulatory bodies
