**Role Summary**:
The Market Modelling Principal is an exciting opportunity in our Strategic Analysis and Financial Planning team based at our Perth CBD Office.

The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain efficient and scalable modelling processes to inform strategic management of Synergy’s supply portfolio and evaluation of market drivers for whole-of-business financial outcomes.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Accountable to maintain Synergy’s Plexos model and delivering robust analysis and scenario modelling over a 20-year horizon.
- Utilise specialised systems knowledge to analyse and resolve complex system problems, ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance.
- Lead development of end-to-end modelling process for Synergy’s long-term supply position, establishing and maintaining robust and repeatable data management processes.
- Manage and oversee complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of market data and dynamics to inform decision-making and enable evaluation and explanation of market outcomes.
- Lead plant operational dispatch and investment modelling utilising Synergy’s energy market modelling tools.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, finance, mathematics and/or statistics)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in market or supply modelling applied to commercial analysis, preferably in the energy industry
- Experience leading cross-functional engagements with business stakeholders
- Ability to interpret and communicate commercial implications from complex concepts and interactions effectively to stakeholders at all levels
