**About the Role**

The Librarian will be reporting to Learning Support Manager and is responsible for the provision of information services to support the teaching and learning activities of staff and students. The Librarian manages the physical and electronic collection of learning resources in response to the needs of library users.

**About you**:
You have a positive outlook, excellent interpersonal skills, the capacity to work well both independently and in teams, and a high level of self-motivation.

Along with having excellent verbal and written communication skills, you also have advanced computer and software skills.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Developing and maintaining a library collection that meets course and student requirements by liaising with Heads of School, students, and suppliers.
- Providing exemplary customer service, including responding to student and staff enquiries and supporting teaching and learning needs.
- Supporting others in the use of library systems and accessing information by providing workshops and individual training as required.
- In collaboration with Academic Support staff, facilitating the development of students’ skills in researching and academic writing.
- Creating and maintaining a professional environment within Ikon’s Learning Resource Centres conducive to independent and collaborative working practices.
- Contributing to annual budgetary considerations and manage the annual budget for library resources.
- Promoting the library's resources to users.
- Providing data, analysis, and feedback as required to the Learning Support Manager to inform key business decisions.

**Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience as a librarian, preferably within the education sector.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, and independently with a high level of self-motivation.
- High-level computer and software skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of requirements associated with regulatory frameworks, especially the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.
