As an ever-growing company, we are now seeking to employ labourers/ trade assistants and welders to assist at multiple sites. This position will be responsible for placing, maintaining, fixing, or removing beams, in position to be ready for use or dismantle. The labouring aspect of the role includes working closely with the on-site leading hand installers to ensure successful installs. This is a full-time position.

**Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Have experience with Structural Steel Erection (preferred)
- Be able to read and follow engineering and architectural plans and fabrication drawings (preferred)
- Have a general understanding of the construction industry
- Experience in the steel industry and site installation work welding experience
- Versatility to adapt to conditions onsite and to think on your feet
- Move parts into position, manually or with hoists and cranes
- Checking levels of beams and posts prior to fixing off
- Be able to align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits in the erection of structural steel
- Position and tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps or bolt parts into position for welding or riveting
- Use jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers to align and fit parts according to specifications

**To be successful for this role you must have the following**:

- White Card
- Forklift License
- Victorian Drivers Licence
- Valid Truck Drivers License (HR)
- Crane Truck License (Truck -Loading) (preferred)
- EWP + basic rigging & dogging (preferred)
- Working at Heights (preferred)
- Elevated Work Platform (preferred)
- First Aid (preferred)
- Cert III in Engineering - Fabrication
- Boilermaker qualification

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

**Salary**: $34.00 - $53.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

- Hoppers Crossing, VIC 3029: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
