**THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Group Manager - Major Asset Life Cycle, the role is as an influential business leader that sits within the Major Asset Life Cycle Leadership Team. The incumbent provides organisational and cultural leadership as well as demonstrable knowledge, experience, and expertise within their functional discipline. At all times, the role will deliver upon Origins Purpose, guided by Origins Values, Behaviours and Leadership Code.
The role is accountable to ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are consulted to support effective decisions on the strategy and direction of the Business Unit and the wider business.
The role is also accountable for prioritising, planning, integrating, and organising all aspects of all activities of the functional team, the business Unit and wider organisation to ensure alignment and deliver upon of the strategy and business commitments.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provides technical leadership, governance, and oversight of the development approvals function to support acquisition, development and execution of the project pipeline.
- Provide technical expertise on emerging trends and issues as well as relevant regulatory changes as they relate to environmental and approval processes.
- Develop and recommend functional strategies to support the delivery and execution of the energy projects pipeline, and life cycle projects.
- Identify functional risks associated with the Development and Major Asset Life Cycle portfolios, and make recommendations to mitigate those risks
- Ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are consulted to enable the successful delivery and implementation of development approvals.
- Prioritising, planning, integrating, and organising all aspects of all activities of the functional team through the development life cycle.
- Initiate, maintain and manage key relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Scope, develop and manage budgets to enable delivery of the functional requirements.
- Identify significant scope, budget, schedule, risk, and resourcing deviations that will impact delivery of project approvals.
- Negotiate, source and manage resources (both internal and external) across the program of projects.
**IS THIS YOU?**
To be considered for this role you will be an exceptional people and cultural leader, with the ability to interpret business requirements to develop strategies, as well as having excellent stakeholder management skills. It is expected you will hold a relevant degree qualification in Environmental Planning, Engineering, Science or equivalent
You will have, or can show through your work history:
- Minimum of 15 years of extensive hands-on environmental approvals and compliance experience in energy, resources/ mining or heavy industry sectors
- Management experience (min 5yrs)
- Exceptional knowledge of relevant legislation and reporting schemes within multiple Australian jurisdictions
- Exceptional skills in conducting regulatory negotiations and preparing written submissions
- Demonstrable cultural leadership delivery of team engagement outcomes
- Demonstrable people leadership to drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Setting ambitious standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed
- Exceptional at establishing relationships, and relationship management skills demonstrated at all levels within and across teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and orally, with a wide range of personnel at all levels of the organisation internally and externally to the organisation, and the ability to interpret and explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
