Our Environment team is solving some of Australia’s biggest challenges. We are preserving and improving our built and natural environments, finding ways to use and re-use our resources, and building safe and future ready infrastructure to support places where communities can thrive.
WSP has the largest Contaminated Sites team in WA. Put simply, we have the scale and reach you need to do the kind of work the world needs - and the culture and people that make it the best work of your life.
Our recent projects/clients include:
- ** Optus Stadium** - developed documentation for environmental approvals, undertook desktop and detailed site contamination investigations (air, gas, soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment - within Swan River), prepared remediation requirements and obtained regulatory sign off prior to the opening of the Stadium
- ** Forrestfield Airport Link** - geotechnical and contaminated site investigations, supported the Public Transport Authority in developing the sampling program, executed the drilling and sampling program, assisted in supporting the preliminary design of the tunnel
- ** Metronet **- supporting the Public Transport Authority in contaminated sites investigations across multiple sections of Metronet (including Thornlie to Cockburn, Yanchep Rail Extension, Midland Rail Station upgrade, Bellevue Railway Workshops/Depot)
- ** Health and Ecological risk assessment of lead impacts** relating to the transportation of lead through the town of Esperance
In this role, you’ll work as an experienced (or Senior) **Environmental Consultant / Scientist**.
This is your chance to drive the future ready site investigation, environmental due diligence and remediation planning to help rehabilitate or repurpose existing or derelict mining, petroleum contaminated sites, as well as government sector assets for new uses.
The role will be based in our **Perth office **with the **option to work from home 2 days per week** (if desired).
**What you’ll do**
As part of a rotating team, you will:
- Leverage your geological and contaminant logging and hydrogeological interpretation skills during field-based visits
- Interrogate data, develop conceptual site models and prepare detailed and concise field notes
- Draft technical assessments reports and recommendations
**About you**
You’re enthusiastic, reliable and great at building collaborative working relationships.
You’re likely to have experience or tertiary education in earth sciences or environmental science/engineering.
In addition, you will bring understanding and interest in developing your knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of soil contaminants and remediation strategies
- Site sampling technique, investigation methodologies and remediation technologies for groundwater, soil and gas
- Understanding of local regulations pertaining to the management of contaminated sites
- A desire to mentor junior staff and grow local business
- A current Australian Driver’s License
