The Victorian Government Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System Final Report represents a significant opportunity for system wide reform that will require whole-of-government strategic responses. The role of Principal Policy Adviser, Evidence and Insights will be responsible for supporting a team tasked with providing specialist advice on the availability and suitability of data that measure outcomes and system performance; undertaking relevant data analytics; data governance and performance reporting.
Reporting to the Manager, Evidence and Insights, the incumbent will also contribute to workplans, preparation of written materials, coordinating team processes and working collaboratively as part of a small and dynamic team.

- Experienced in translating evidence insights for different audiences that enable system change?

Accountabilities
- Undertake detailed data analyses and provide advice and technical support relating to mental health service demand and supply, including working with linked data.
- Synthesise complex technical information to provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders to support the development of detailed reports and ministerial briefs on complex mental health system and data reforms matters.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
