An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced **Laboratory Manager (Grade 4 Medical Scientist)** to join our **Shepparton Laboratory**.

The Regional Laboratory manager is responsible for managing a Regional Laboratory, which performs a wide range of laboratory tests. The role includes scientific as well as administrative duties and is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day work performed in the Laboratory.

As the Regional Laboratory Manager, one must be a widely experienced scientist with sound knowledge and skills relating to an extensive range of diagnostic tests and procedures. At this level the incumbent is expected to have achieved a high level of performance and a commitment to professional development.

The Regional Laboratory Manager is responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed and therefore the role extends from managing a team of people to perform their work accurately and efficiently, to ensuring that Quality Assurance systems and documentation are maintained in line with the relevant NPAAC guidelines.

**To be successful in this role you must have**:

- ** Significant and extensive post-graduate experience in Biochemistry and/or Haematology and/or Immunohaematology in excess of 10 years**:

- ** Demonstrated commitment and ability to cope with organisational change**:

- ** A sound understanding of quality systems in Pathology**:

- ** Ability to prioritise, and to cope with stressful and emergency situations.**:

- ** Good communication skills (written and oral)**
