Melbourne, Australia Abacus Bar Pty Ltd Full time

As a Barista with us, you'll be responsible for brewing the best coffee drinks in town while delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be expected to prepare and serve a wide range of coffee drinks using state-of-the-art equipment, with the ability to dial in recipes for optimal flavour. In addition, you'll engage with customers, answer questions about our menu offerings, and provide knowledgeable and friendly service.

At our café, we're committed to maintaining a clean and organised work environment, and ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and in good working condition. We're looking for someone who is equally committed to these standards and who is willing to pitch in with other tasks as needed. Basic food preparation may be involved.

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years of proven experience as a Barista, with a strong understanding of coffee-making techniques and equipment. Basic food preparation skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are also important. Finally, you should have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:

- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee drinks using state-of-the-art equipment
- Engage with customers and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Assist with daily operations and customer orders
- Adhere to all food and beverage regulations and health codes
- Pitch in with other tasks as needed, including basic food preparation

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Barista with a strong understanding of coffee-making techniques and equipment
- Extensive knowledge of coffee and tea, including different brewing methods and flavour profiles
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers and build relationships
- Basic food preparation skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

**Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in Australia
- Sensory skills
- Ability to dial in recipes
- Ability to work independently behind the bar and as part of a small team
