This role's focus area is to implement public contact and community engagement projects within the local and regional community, including face to face communications, over the counter sales, print and web-based product development, which includes Park Alerts and Condition Reports.
The position will also provide support to the Ranger in Charge for the South Cooloola work unit in the delivery and the coordination of the operational works program and overseeing the work of external contractors.
The successful applicants will supervise staff, have a sound understanding of the department's workplace health and safety, procurement and financial practices, natural resource management, infrastructure development, maintenance, visitor management, compliance and managing the rosters for rangers reporting to the Great Sandy Information Centre.
You will have the ability to communicate clearly and maintain a positive and supportive approach within a team environment. The Cooloola Recreation Area and Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area are high visitation areas where regular visitor compliance patrols are carried out and working on weekends and during school holidays are required.
