Take the next step in your architectural career to work across diverse store format projects and initiatives for David Jones.

As the Store Designer, you will join a team of diverse designers/drafters who take creative concepts and turn them into buildable designs. Reporting to the Store Design Manager, your focus will be on delivering quality design and project outputs that support the creation of retail spaces that inspire our customers like no other. Managing a diverse mix of BAU business improvement and major projects, you will manage timelines and influence key internal partners to meet project deadlines while developing best practice processes that insure consistency of delivery.

With a hybrid mix of time at home and in our office, this role will suit an emerging store designer/commercial draftsperson who is commercially savvy and looking to inspire customers and progress their career in a premium retail environment.

What does the role involve?
- Support brands changing, entering & exiting the business with Architectural documentation
- Reviewing & approving brands proposed layouts & designs align with David Jones principles
- Support project delivery team to deliver the approved store design
- Support design team seeking cost savings with clear considered design & creative detail solutions
- Lead and deliver high quality project documentation within approved project budgets
- Use your continuous improvement approach to identify improved processes that drive quality and efficiency

Who are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualified in architectural design
- Dedicated experience in a similar design role within a retail/hospitality/commercial environment
- Dedicated experience using AutoCAD is essential
- Previous experience navigating between multiple projects with competing priorities
- Agile mindset and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and budgets
- High level of attention to detail with a focus on premium design principles
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders with the adaptability to manage great relationships
- A passion for retail and creating memorable customer experiences
