On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
**About the Department**
The Nuclear Medicine and PET Department provides a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic services, including positron emission tomography (PET), for inpatients and outpatients. The department includes a team of nuclear medicine specialists, nuclear medicine technologists, cardiac technologists, clerical staff and physicists.
**About the Role**
Applications are open for a Specialist in Nuclear Medicine to commence in February 2026 working 0.75 EFT.
The successful applicant will be required to provide excellent clinical expertise in Nuclear Medicine and PET, to support Alfred Health's teaching, research and clinical governance programs and to support the strategic priorities and values of Alfred Health.
**Qualifications and Experience Required**
- Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists or Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians.
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Nuclear Medicine & PET
- Must meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Nuclear Medicine & PET
