The Reconnect Youth & Family Worker role utilises a holistic, early intervention approach, addressing immediate housing needs and supports long-term outcomes for young people and their families. By focusing on family reconciliation, improving engagement with education, training, and employment, and providing coordinated, practical support, the role creates sustainable pathways for young people to overcome homelessness and thrive within their families and communities. This comprehensive support system ensures young people have the tools to build a brighter future while strengthening family bonds and preventing future homelessness and disengagement in education.

**About You**

The ideal person we are looking for has
- Relevant qualifications in Youth, Community Welfare, Social Work etc. and experience in client service functions
- A strong knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting young people and their families, including youth homelessness, disengagement from education, substance use, and cultural disconnection, with the ability to provide effective support.
- Proven experience in delivering case management, offering tailored support, and fostering relationships to assist young people and their parents in outreach settings.
- The ability to communicate and engage therapeutically with clients, providing support to individuals with diverse intellectual abilities, motivational levels, health profiles, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders and enhance community capacity.

Successful applicants must complete a **National Criminal History Check**.

You must also hold:

- Current driver’s licence, and
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
