This position is accountable for the contributing to the definition of the vision, and management of the integrated Services teams across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring that outcomes are aligned with the strategic priorities of the University Operational Plan, Learning and Teaching Plan and the University Research Plan.

To do this the Director of Library, Learning and Research Services will contribute to and drive the University’s strategic direction in relation to student progression, and provide leadership to the University community in relation to innovative, student-focused service delivery.

Your core daily accountabilities in this role will include:
- Leading the University in areas of Library, Learning and Research Services,- Establishing a data driven analysis, planning and decision-making approach to facilitate the effective implementation of the student life cycle framework, focussing service delivery on a pro-active and real-time basis,- Developing and implementing innovative and transformative approaches to all aspects of Learning and Research support and ensuring the delivery of high-quality student services - building and managing a fit-for-purpose learning environment for all domestic and international students who are studying onshore and offshore - as well as to academic and research staff,- Advising key internal decision-making bodies, such as the Academic Board, Learning and Teaching Committee, Curriculm Committee and Research Committee- Providing strategic direction and functional leadership for the national learning support service model, integrating academic support into a single Student Learning Platform,- Driving the academic contribution to minimising attrition and maximising retention, progression and completion activities and to working groups and ensuring appropriate data can be collected and distributed as required,- Providing strategic advice on research management, research impact and general research performance

Who you are

To be successful in this role you will have:
- An appropriate postgraduate qualification or equivalent in education, library and/or information sciences, education management or psychology or equivalent.- Significant leadership and a minimum of 5 year’s senior management experience in a highly complex academic environment including having made a contribution to education processes, governance and leading change and innovation,- Exceptional relationship building skills and a track record of influencing, leading and motivating varied internal and external stakeholders,- A thorough understanding of best practice delivery of academic support including information literacies, digital literacies, and academic literacies within an integrated and cohesive support function,- A strong understanding of data, analytics and data-based decision making is required- Demonstrated ability to source and interpret business information, as well as strategically plan and manage teams and resources - including for both Library and Learning Services - to make informed decisions in business improvement projects.
