Based in
**Brisbane**, the
**Metering Operation Specialist**, Powermetric Metering Pty Ltd (“Powermetric”) is a broad role ranging from customer onboarding to asset management and includes meter data delivery. This may require the dealing with customer queries, coordination of metering installations, commissioning, fault rectification, auditing, maintenance of electricity metering installations, meter data quality and quantity processing and managing market settlement data.

The role will require extensive interaction both internally within the broader Shell Energy group and externally with suppliers, installers, network companies and regulators including the Australian Energy Market Operator.

**Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Assist the Customer Delivery Manager and Account Managers in the management of customer onboarding by processing Direct Metering Agreements (DMA’s), Meter Service Requests (MSR’s), analysing system exceptions, creation of work orders, managing embedded network metering and reporting;
- Assist the Meter Provision Asset Manager with daily operations, provide technical support to metering technicians and assist with processing metering field work orders for metering installation, faults and maintenance activities;
- Assist the Meter Provision Asset Manager in the delivery and operation of an AEMO approved NER compliant Asset Management Plan and in contract management of third-party metering installers including the auditing of contractors to ensure compliance;
- Assist the Meter Data Service Delivery Manager by processing meter data validation exceptions by, analysing data trends, managing meter alarms, and system alerts, ensuring quality data and substitutions in compliance with the National Electricity Market rules;
- Manage B2B and CATS transactions in accordance with the applicable NER requirements and timeframes;
- Develop a competency in the operation of the Meter Management System, report and assist in analysing system exceptions, performance constraints and issues with the system and work with the _Shell Energy software development team_ on development of the system;
- Develop and maintain operational, procedures and systems including metering installation meter faults and maintenance processes, and assets management plan consistent with Chapter 7 of the National Electricity Rules (“NER”), ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and AS/NZS4801 and ensure operational compliance with these requirements;
- Develop the flexibility to work across the various business areas report to respective area managers; and
- Be an integral part of the Powermetric’s operations team, assisting with the development of business strategy and overall accomplishment of targets.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Understanding of the National Energy Market (NEM) and/or electricity metering principles employed in the NEM;
- Ability to gain an understanding of metering systems and AEMO data requirements;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timeframes with great attention to detail;
- Demonstrated understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and AS/NZS4801;
- High professional demeanour and presentation at all times;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills;
- Commercial acumen with the ability to develop and manage relationships with external parties;
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, a working knowledge of power BI and Visio is desirable; and
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
